I'm in the comedy business now!

I have always wanted to be a comedian, an actor an entertainer. Like Robbin Williams or Joe Rogan or the many others I look up to and aspire to be like... However I was frozen in fear, I thought what if I fail, people will judge me, it will be embarrassing. I had become tired of thinking about what could be. Sitting alone in a hotel in south Florida (tough life I know) I was contemplating buying home, a place to escape the harsh Canadian winter. The light bulb went off in my head, maybe after touring Thomas Edison's property. Am I ready to give up my dreams to perform? Just to have more stuff, another home, more cars and toys to pay insurance on. But I want to be a comedian! I was too ashamed to even go watch comedy because I wouldn't try myself. So on a Sunday night alone in Florida I made a deal with myself... I will go to a show and if I see a sign... success leaves clues. If not I would buy new golf clubs and join a country club in south Florida... The head liner asked after his show "does anyone want to learn stand up? we have a two day workshop, sign up tonight" That was the sign I was looking for. I had written in my goal book. I am so happy and grateful to have found a creative outlet and a mentor on or before February 6th 2020, my back to work date... After the two days, it was official, I sucked real bad... I asked what turned out to be an award winning comic the original winner of last comic standing! with movie, T.V. and writing credits. I asked Dat Phan how can I really become a comic? he answered "You must come to LA!" I said see you next week... he had heard that before!
I contemplated driving across the US but then decided to drive home to Ottawa and then fly to LA.
After explaining to wife why I appear to be having my third midlife crisis in as many years... I guess I am going to live a bit longer then expected.
